Need planting advise

Hey all.
This area gets full son at about 11am until sunset.
I'm new to this gardening thing. Wondering what plants I should go with and where to put them to finish off the landscape. Also need to know what time of year I can plant what y'all would recommend.

phlox would look great it spreads and flowers in the spring a liriopi is also great no matter what zone cold hardy banana plants for height .Dianthis also is very drought hardxy and comes back every year and spreads pics 4 /5/6 are phlox flowering and not flowering and pink flower plant is dianthis 1and second st pic liriopi is next to it in variegated color

thanks for the plant tips!!!! Do I have to wait until spring to plant? Anything I can plant now?
obviously we can have some harsh winters here, so need advise there too.
what about the area where my water drains into the pondless section. is there anything I can put there?
