New Arizona Pond

Hello. My wife and I finished our pond about a month ago. It's roughly about 500 gallons quarter circle with river rock border and water fall. For know we have 3 koi, 1 goldfish and a pleco. I hooked up a Tetra FK6 550 Gph pump and filter kit. Instead of the fountain I ran the output line to an 8" waterfall spillway. We added water lettuce, Parrot feather and water hyacinth. Pic attached. Fish seem to be doing good. I am still doing some research on adding a bio filter, skimmer, water testing etc. We came to the forum to see what other people have done with their ponds and to seek insight on how to make ours better.
