Hi everyone! Been here awhile but never posted. Have had several Blue Heron visits in the past few days... Lost 2, but spread and staked our winter netting early for fall. Suggestions

Welcome! well not really but........

I think the netting will help tremendous amounts, but also make sure you have enough hiding places in there for the fish to get out of the way, if not one can be constructed simply by stacking some rocks until you get a stable little cave. :)

Welcome to our forum!

I had to net mine to keep the herons out of my pond. We have a heron rookery just west of us. They fly over all of the time.
I use a wide weave net hanging about 2-3 feet over the pond, works great.

I always have my net up. I put it up on posts so it hangs all the way to the ground. Once the heron find your pond they will never give up so if I were you I'd rig it up permanently.
