So I am getting a new fish today. A boy got tired of his goldfish so I am adopting it. What should I do? Should I put it in a medicine tank and treat it for ick just out of precaution? or just hold it in a seaperate container for a while till I feel like the fish will be ok?

quarentine it for a week to see if anything comes up...if nothing does...it should be safe to put it in your pond...you might want to check for anchor worms and fish lice...these are common parasites with goldfish
