Hello, my name is Josh. I'm 38 years old and am a supervisor for a concrete company. I am in the process of completing my second koi pond. Just wanted to show it off a little and see what people thought about it. These are pics of where I'm at with it now, I will post time line pics later when I get home. Comments welcome!

It is about 76 feet long. About 15 feet a coss at the ends and 9 feet across through the middle where the bridge is. Each end is about 6 feet deep and comes up to two and a half feet deep in the center. I'm guessing maybe 15-20k gallon.

I showed your pictures to my husband and his mouth dropped open. I should send you a present! The size of your pond makes the one I want look teeny tiny -- which helps my case with the reluctant spouse! Hooray!

My neighbors think I'm crazy. But when u walk out my back door, it is like walking into a paradise, not a subdivision back yard. Once it is complete it is going to be amazing!

@bagsmom Consider this..... Almost everyone with a pond wishes they'd made it bigger. So, when planning [sorry, can't help with the spousal issue] it's a good idea to plan for "bigger" on the first go-around. IOW, go as big as your space and budget will allow [liner will be the biggest initial expense]. But you can also plan for adding extensions and feeder ponds where all the ponds are connected by streams or waterfalls -- assuming your yard is big enough.

@JoshHemminger We rented a mini-ex when we dug our pond and couldn't have done it without -- a true lifesaver!

Yes my excavator was the ONLY way I could of done this. Heck, just moving all the rocks would of been impossible. Another thing I think is really cool is that every single rock I have is one that I have dug up personally. When operating equipment I dig footings for residential housing. In subdivisions, farms, fields, everywhere.
