Clump in the foreground is Acorus gramineus, there was a large clump of it in the old pond that we replaced the year before. We rounded up as much of the wildlife as we could, dug it deeper and replaced the liner.
It's settled in nicely now. I know we added a bog bean and purple loostrife but I can't remember the other plants, will have to wait till they start growing again
Noticed the ducks doing a fly past over the pond. About 4 of them came down last year and made a right mess of it They don't nest there, just use it to have a party so put some mesh over for the time being.
The resident pigeons and moorhen can still get to the edge for a drink, they don't mess the place up like the ducks do
