Hello forumites,

Just thought I would stop in and say hi. Been lurking here for a few months and enjoy ponding very much. I just got done repotting my Baby Doll lotus and got at least 50 tubers outta the tub she was in. I also just got some other tubers of the beautiful lotus plant can't remember the names but one is Yellow the other is a deep red color. Anyhoo just saying HI!:)

Welcome aboard! What are you doing with all those tubers? Down here you either have to pay $$ for one that is already potted and going or get seeds, Which I have had no luck with so far.

I tried the lotus here but I put them out when it started getting nice and then we had an unexpected freeze and that's all it took.............nothing but muck left..............I don't think our season of sunshine is long enough for them here

I'll just say a big no to that one
I have too many houseplants in here already to care for and I don't need one more for somebody to have to care for if we take off on a trip.
I may have to end up giving some away as the neighbors may get a headache when they come to water them

aw jw My house plants are just like umm, lets say I can't give them away. I hauled a bunch from arizona to maryland in the back of a semi, they didn't too happy when they got here, but are so loving our sun room now. Growing beautifully.

Hi PondBoy,

What zone are you in there in Eagle? I live in Shell Lake, WI which is either zone 3b or 4 depending on which map you look at. I'd love to know some people who share the joys and challenges of ponding in a cold climate with a very short growing season.

And, welcome to the forum.....though, I'm new here too!

Well even with your short growing season jenny, your pond has a beautiful amount of plants around and in it! Good job!

Addy, let me just show you all of them that I have in the house and they are spread all over the place. I do love them and would miss them and I will try to have the neighbors or relatives come to water them but if it gets to be too much of a hassle I will have to part w/ some eventually I'm afraid
