Halloween- Is actually a comet that was purchased as a black. 12" long 3 years old.
Lucky- Chagoi Butterfly 15" age unknown. had 2 year

Starburst- 9" Kikusui Butterfly that did not hold it's patteren as expected. 1 year old.
Bozo the clown- Kohaku butterfly 8" two years old.

Bumblebee - Gin Rin Hi utsuri 5" 1 year old female.
Texas Kikusui- Kikusui ( but changing to take on Beni Kumonryu appearance) 5" 1 year old.( Passed away, 7-1-13 Jumped out)

Baby trio (1) Gin Rin Shiro Utsuri Butterfly. 10" two year old, this is one of the three gin rin babies I rasied from egg.

Miracle- Ki Utsuri 5" 1 year old. This little fellow was found last year when I back flushed my filter. It was found swimming in the yard

Blue- Blue Kichiben Doitsu Butterfly although most of the blue doesn't show up much anymore. 14.5" three years old male

Sparkles- Was a tancho platinum Gin Rin butterfly, Now, she's just sparkles 9" 2 years old.
Matsuba- is a matsuba butterfly 15" 3 years old.

Little Bit- Goshiki Butterfly, 10" was given to me as a gift as a 1" fry. two years old.
Sunny- Ki Doitsu 9" 2 years old and one of my favorites in the pond. male
Hi Sumi- Showa 11" 2 year old

here are most of our goldfish. No names and not sure of ages of most but I thought I would share the pics of them.

The pond is starting to really clear. plants and fish seem to have made the transition very well so far. After losing most of the bacteria bed from the filter falls unit and installing a much larger unit I decided to bump up the flow rate on the trash master filter and use it to help seed the new filter. Was able to also use two bags of seeded bio balls in the new filter. The small deck yo the side is temporary until I build the feeding deck and do the landscaping. Still a long ways to go but starting to take shape.

Some new guys that went into quarantine 4/20/2012 the black and white butterfly is named salt and peppa $6 . My wife picked out the big girl butterfly sanke. She will never be a large koi, she's very short for her size but her colors showed up really nice, good fins, and at $50 it was a no brainier she was coming home with us. The soragoi was only the third one we had seen and the wife really likes them. This one has some really nice metallic shine and there is some light yellows that are deep in the color. I have been looking for a nice RED and white comet, this one at over 8", one red eye and one blue, with lip stick was another steal at $20. and since we tripled the size of the pond I figured at $25 the addition of another large pleco would be a good idea. We also picked up a Asagi Butterfly that was put in the fish tank along with some Oranda's and pearl scales but I didn't get a chance to photo before putting them in the tank so I'll have to photograph at a later date. last are a bowl of the fry from the old pond, This bowl is one of six we were able to remove and place so far. they are 4 days old in these photos. My friend took about 75 to his preform pond that has been running for about 4 months with no fish. I took 50 and placed them in one of our planted tubs. took about 300 and placed them in the big kettle out front ( contains three baby map turtles and a group of about a dozen least killie fish.) Trying to get one more small 50 gallon tub set up to remove at least 50-100 more to monitor more closely.

Well two weeks have passed since the last up-date, and a few new additions are being added. We picked up these four new koi this weekend.
Showa 18" 2 years old - Purdin Koi farm Sekiguchi/sakai bloodline. male (Presley)
Red Eye Kohaku 19" 3 years old - Purdin Koi farm, female (named red eye)
Kuchiben Kohaku 17" -2 year old -Purdin Koi farm ( Gracie's daughter) Gracie II, non-verified, but Bill thinks is female (highest quality koi purchased)
Goshiki-12" -1 year old! Has potential to get quite large for goshiki, probably male
