Well that's a first for me. I've never seen a skimmer installed inside the liner - I don't know why they would do it that way? Where was the plumbing supposed to go? But now it makes sense how you were able to easily remove it from he pond - I was wondering how that was going to happen.

If I remember correctly, you paid someone to build this pond. If that's the case, I would be calling them to come back and figure out where the leak is.

WOW! Since i never had a skimmer before i didn't know how to install a skimmer. We did not part on very good terms so i will find the leak myself.

Do you think this is the reason? It's only plastic.

Goldfish can live forever in an outdoor pond without being fed. I wouldn't worry too much about feeding them.

Bugs and worms etc. get into that pond and fish will eat them up along w/algae. My goldfish lived that way for years w/o me ever feeding them. Now I feed them cuz I want them to come to me as I enjoy seeing them up close. I don't feed them every day tho.

420benz- you already have fish from walmart in your pond. You need to consider someway to quarantine any new fish you get. Most of the fish foods in pellet form are floating food,

True! I do have flakes. But eventually they sink to the bottom.I want to train them to take food from my Grandkids fingers.I have 2 really small gold fish that will eat the flakes. I don't have any way to quarantine the new fish so i hope everything goes ok.Thanks

Hope is a wonderful thing... but knowledge is even better.

How big is your pond again? Remember that those 5 inch koi will soon be 30 inch koi - do you have the water volume to handle that amount of bio-load?
