Hey guys,

Just completed my first pond build and am nervously filling up, decided to make a glass wall and rebated frame myself, used 2 layers of 12.5 mm laminated and toughened glass, just wondering if anyone else has done this and how it faired...!

Construction was undertaken with 200 x 100 mm oak sleepers, and a below ground dig, base was laid to a fall towards the centre from each side with centralised single bottom drain, with fibre glass and marine ply internal lining, Skimmer, nexus 220 on gravity drain,
Pond is 6m Long, 2m wide and in centre 1.7m deep..

Comments are welcomed it’s my first time on this so always looking for advise on how to improve.

Great plan and it's coming out very nice All to often home owners take on do it your self projects to only have the end result look like it was not dome professionally and cost them even more money in the long run when it has to be filled in . you have done a spectacular job. My question is the lumber is not pressure treated whats the plan where the timbers are back filled against the soil? stone ? rubber?

Hey there, the timbers are green oak, I have sealed and then applied 2 x coats of yacht varnish, anything below ground was 4 “ block work, I have dpm, vapour barrier and membrane in place for anything touching at ground level.
