New Water Hawthorne getting it's first bloom

Just got this plant not too long ago and it is getting it's first bloom. Is supposed to smell like vanilla. Don't know cuz am not putting my nose down there to end up tipping myself into the pond. Will have to wait and see if it wafts up to me someday when more blooms are on it.

How neat jw! if mine has a bloom will sniff it for you when i get home! I looked before we left, saw leaves, not flowers at that time.

One day there was nothing and then today a pretty little bloom. Happened pretty fast. Didn't expect any in the summer. Thought they would bloom in cooler weather. Hoping for more tho!

They are supposed to bloom in the winter, well until it freezes real hard, then start up quickly in the spring, stopping during the heat.

thats a pretty flower and if you do sniff it could you get a video of the tip over .

I just have 3 leaves so far jw, yours beating mine! no blooms, unless it bloomed and stopped before I got here. Lilies still going crazy. Hyacinths starting to look less pretty, but our night temps are dropping.

Mine is putting up flowers like crazy but then it is much cooler here. I bet when your temps go down a bit you will then get blooms addy.

Sissy I wouldn't mind seeing him cool off at times and I'm always there to help him in whatever he does so...............why not, lol!

How neat jw, we are getting into the 50's at night but still 80's during the day. lilies still sending up tons of blooms, see a bunch of buds

You will get blooms soon I bet. Here's a pic of the two newest blooms and a closeup of one. The blooms aren't very big tho but they sure are pretty.
