I have 3 ponds on a property I bought. Near as I can tell the largest pond is approx 43,500 gallons. Id like to filter using a bog and external pump. What size pump would be recommended?
The other 2 ponds are approx 8,300 and 15,500 gallons and adjoin each other so I'm hoping to use 3/4 of the smaller one as a bog filter for both ponds,,, I figure to use a second pump for these 2 ponds and would like to know size of pump?
Thank you very much for any advice you can offer.

The irregular shape is 83 x35 at the widest point. And approx 2.5-3 feet deep. The rectangular ponds are: 1 at 12x46 and approx 1.5-2 feet deep. Second at 30 x25 and approx 3 feet deep. I hope this helps in a determining appropriate pumps. My plan is to use 1/3 to 1/4 of large as a big filter. For the other 2 ponds I’d like to use 1/2 of pond 1 as bog filter for pond 2. So I’m looking at 2 big filters and 2 pumps. I’d like to use non submersible pumps as the grandchildren will wade in the ponds and I don’t want any risk to them of being shocked…

The first pond will probably have issues no matter what you do. It has ground run off going right in by the looks of it , meaning it will more than likely be a battle with algae and or clarity .

To follow the "rules" turn twice a hour you will need large gph flow pumps.

I have a large bog and turn over my pond about once every 2 hours or so. It stays fine without the large turn over due to the bog size.
I use a dragon lim pump, external, same pump since 2002 two different ponds, one in AZ one in MD. It is rated for about 6800 gph

Thank you I was hoping I could go with a reasonable pump….electric. It’s and all…
