i have had a pond for a number of years with koi, but lately i have been dissapointed with my filter system, which consists of a uv light 45 gallon drum with brushes acting acting as a vortex which runs into a black box with lava rock on the bottom and filter mats on top but it seems to be struggling to keep the pond clean. so i am planning a new filter but unsure as what media to use,
i intend getting a cpl of 60ltr drums after the vortex. my question is what media to use, i was thinking K1 in the first barrel and continuing to use the alfagrog in the second barrel, and maybe sharp sand in the black box to polish the water but not sure if this would work .
