I was teaching some [first grader] Cub Scouts yesterday (yearly scout camp) about how you can tell what kind of food a bird eats by looking at its beak. I used the Northern Cardinal as an example of a seed-eater. Most of the kids knew what a Cardinal [aka, Red Bird] was, but it was sad that some actually didn't know....
