Sarracenia rubra, possibly jonesii or bama, need to double checkFrittalaria?
What do you grow them in ? do you do anything other than peat and sand?Sarracenia rubra, possibly jonesii or bama, need to double check
They are in preformed pond liners with drainage holes drilled about an inch from the bottom, thin layer of gravel, then two inches of sand, then pure peat. I used to go crazy with insulating them with leaves or hay and then netting over that to keep the squirrels out. Now i don't even worry any more during the winter, zone 7A. For years I also hand pollinated them and then bagged the flowers to prevent open pollination from making unintentional crosses. I've stopped the breeding program but had traded sarrs throughout the US, including HI. Small bog before I thinned it.What do you grow them in ? do you do anything other than peat and sand?
Very pretty, they kind of look like they are crying, sad.
