It makes me want to move from ct just to get 3 foot tall pitcher plants . I'm thinking of raising the bog a few inches to see if just getting them into always damp soil over soaked soil can help them get tall here. i know my water of 8.3 ph is not helping so if the water has to pass through more peat moss the ph may be more acidic and they may do better. I LOVE MY PITCHERS

What do you grow them in ? do you do anything other than peat and sand?
They are in preformed pond liners with drainage holes drilled about an inch from the bottom, thin layer of gravel, then two inches of sand, then pure peat. I used to go crazy with insulating them with leaves or hay and then netting over that to keep the squirrels out. Now i don't even worry any more during the winter, zone 7A. For years I also hand pollinated them and then bagged the flowers to prevent open pollination from making unintentional crosses. I've stopped the breeding program but had traded sarrs throughout the US, including HI. Small bog before I thinned it.

I have been trying to link to the 2025 spring online auction at terraforums.com but I can't get it to work. The auction starts on May 16'th and runs for two weeks. It is to benefit NASC.
