My sister works in a hospital and 5 of my nieces are nurses and they all said the hospitals they work in could use a lot of this equipment .It sits there not being used and hospitals are struggling to buy beds and wheelchairs .

I can see how these videos can be very misleading. A little further searching on the web reveals that the usable equipment in these hospitals that can be economically and practically moved are sold to medical equipment brokers or to other medical facilities. As long as this usable, and in some instances, valuable pieces of equipment remain utilities are left on and security is provided. Once all of the usable equipment is removed, the building is usually demolished or converted to another use. Sometimes they are just abandoned. There are many videos of abandoned hospitals that are empty and in a state of decay that can be viewed on You Tube.
In this link, it is stated that the equipment was removed after the video was made,

But we are still maintaining some of these buildings and paying to have security there .There is no reason it should take up to 3 years and more to empty them .If you look at some of these buildings they look in great shape .Why would we ever need to abandon a perfectly good building is something I cannot understand .The one hospital was just recently remodeled .The problem seems to be caused by mishandling of funds .I live not far from Dan River Mills and the same happened there ,big wig parties and vacations and even one boss flew a lot of people over to Hawaii for his wife's birthday and charged it to the plant .The plant conditions were left go and workers there have pics of working conditions that were so bad it made me cringe .Now it is closed and there has been a salvage company in there for years and they are making wood flooring out of the salvage.I looked at the VA hospital that closed 4+ years ago in NC and all the stuff is still in there to this day . My sister and I snooped when my hubby was down to Duke for tests .We asked and were told there was no money left to save the items inside when it was closed .Also the explorers are going to go back to those hospitals to see what is left

Cleanlines and disinfection standards are constantly being improved, so a lot of the equipment pictured would not meet new disinfection guidelines, operate at a low efficiency, or not be upgradeable at all.
If older buildings have asbestos in them, it may be too costly at the moment to properly dispose of.
It's cheaper to pay for minimum security now in the hopes that money will become available sometime in the future.

I moved my old EM's and SEM's to Mexico, donated to a University. The only cost was the dismantling and freight.
