I have a 18" by 18" pond with two 4" goldfish. Would adding a black moor be overstocking the pond? It is stagnant and I us the hose to aerate and clean the pond. There are more than enough snails in the pond.

How clear the water is has nothing to do with how healthy the water is for your fish. I recommend you buy a test kit so you can see if your water parameters are good. Do you have any filtration for your pond?

One should imagine the condition of the fish before putting them in small space.
At least make sure they could swim properly, they are going to spend their whole life in it.

The depth matters also plus is your water city water because the health of the fish could be at risk .Aerators or small pump are not expensive and a home made filter is easy to build .

I use well water and the plants take up about half the surface and somewhere around a fourth of the entire pot with plenty of room to swim in.

remember plants use oxygen and night and lack of oxygen first thing in the morning is a big risk .Do you live where it freezes ,not sure a more can take too cold of water

The moor would come in the garage or basment in November and be put back out in mid March.

You will need a thermometer to check temps of water Even a dollar store one would work .

How deep is the pond as there is really no way to know how bad winter will be .But fish need oxygen and a filter to stay healthy .A API test kit would help greatly

no pond heater either .If it is a preformed it will not last long .So maybe best to think about building a liner pond and getting a pond pump and aerator
