Open invitation to the Deep South Koi Club meeting 4-28-13

I will be hosting the Deep South Koi and Water gardening Society meeting Sunday April the 28th from 1pm to 3pm (will do a walk around after the meeting if anyone wants to view the rest of the property after the meeting) If you are interested in attending please PM me directly for directions. There will be refreshments, drinks, and a raffle/drawing plus some interesting folks with similar interests attending. If you can join the fun and a member of GPF your invited. Hope to see you!

Final reminder if there is anyone in the La. area that would like to attend your more than welcome to come out and visit. Plenty of free food, drinks, and good folks. Might even turn on some music and have some dancing going on later in the evening. Crossing our fingers that the weather will cooperate. If not we will move it indoors or in the barn.

Thanks for posting those Minnowman, I like the fifth one where you took the one at water level. That's a cool shot! Hopefully I can get some pictures from one of the club members that was taking pictures. I never had time to even bring my camera outside between cooking and running chairs tables and food from the front yard to the barn when the rain started back. . All in all considering the weather I think we had a great turn out. Final Tally was 44 people showed up for the first part. Then we ended up having a second showing later in the evening (Unexpectingly!) and ended up cooking a second time for another 14 people. I think I finally settled down and set down to check the computer about 8:30 or 9pm and fell asleep sitting at the desk. TOTALLY EXSAUSTED! All in all I was pretty happy with the turn out and it was fun getting to meet and great so many fellow ponders. I will be posting some pics as soon as they get forwarded to me.

Oh, I understand and don't blame you. Would have tried to make the trip, but Sat. night was son's Senior Prom, so...... Maybe can look at some time in May?

Looks like a diverse group. Where were most of the folks from? I need to look into whether we have any "ponding" clubs or groups around here, but not sure where to start looking. Any suggestions? (And no, I'm not the person to start one... )

TM, most were from the Baton Rouge to Hammond area, but we also some attends from the cities of New Orleans, Thibodaux, McComb Ms., and Slidell. There is the Dallas Koi club but they are primarily "Only Koi but may assist a water gardener if they need help or assistance. DR. Case may know of a club or group in the Ark. area. Some were people I have done work for, some were members of the club and Gary (Minnowman) and his wife I met here on GPF. Another suggestion if there isn't a Water garden or koi group in the area, try a gardening group. Sometimes you can find a group of similar interest people and get together.
