Hi
Ive seperated a goldfish that has been badley treated due to spawning behaviour, the problem is the fish is very active and eating well but some scales on both sides have come away and it looks a little red what could i treat it with so it wont get worse or could it heal up on its own..??
Cheers kevin.

I've had this happen with my koi before. I just kept my eye on her and kept the pond water in as good as condition as possible. It may heal on it's own, or it could become infected. Do you have a picture?

Chances are it will heal on it's own - after all, fish in the wild surely get scrapes and what not and manage to heal up on their own. But good water quality is the key. You're doing the right thing - observe and pay attention to any changes.
