Dear honey was walking by his Camaro, hauling some batteries to the RV and happened to look down. Needless to say he was a bit surprised and shocked at the new resident.

It stayed frozen not even a wiggle as I snapped photos of it.

This is not the first time we have seen it near the Camaro, maybe that is its favorite hunting spot. We don't drive this car often.

I finally touched it's tail with a stick and poof gone up somewhere.............

A black rat snake. One of the snakes I have seen around more than others. Most have been around 5 feet long.
We have seen it hanging around the cars, maybe it likes his Convertible Camaro,

We have a lot of chipmunks running around, one of their foods.

In the south we call them Black Racers...... They are extremely fast and if you run from them they will chase you.....but if you stop and face them they will run the other way. Also one of their favorite diet is other snakes

They are one of our most common snakes, per snakes of Maryland.

"Black rat snakes eat mostly small rodents such as mice, rats, moles and chipmunks; they are also known to feed on small lizards, frogs and bird eggs."

We have lost a few bird nests full of eggs to them.

They never chase us, usually if we see them they run. And they are pretty slow. Easy to keep up with. I have followed them around the yard.
Might be different than your racers.

We have other snakes, just seldom see them. One time I saw a brown snake in the pond.

We do have the northern copperhead and timber rattler, so far, thankfully, have never run into one.
