Hello beautiful people,
I ask the question because I am planning to change my set up. I'm currently running a 6 inch airstone next to my waterfall at the bottom of my pond, plus another 6 inch airstone in my skimmer. Most of you know that I have just built a Bakki Shower, I have a bead filter and just placed back my 30 gallons bio filter and an 80 watt UV filter.
So my question is, if I remove the two 6 inch airstones and place them towards the bottom of my 30 gallon bio filter will there be a loss in oxygen to the pond or should I keep the stones where they currently are. I have roughly 27 Koi in various sizes. 9 inches to 28 inches.
The main reason I would like to move them is the bubbles create a large ripple on the water and I would like to eliminate that. The waterfall doesn't seem to create a ripple as much as the air bubbles do.

The picture that I've attached is an old one (2 years ago) that was in the build stage but gives you an idea as to where the airstone is located. Red circle and arrow.

Your thoughts?

I don't have that type filter but i keep air stones in my filters also .I have 4 air stones in total 2 set up like yours and 1 each in each filter .Could you add smaller ones to your filter and see what happens .This way you may have the best of 2 worlds .
