Painting a 1 1/2 elbow.

If i paint one elbow that will be connected to the pump will it harm the fish?

I used spray paint for plastic to color my pvc, the stuff under the water. Never bothered the fish.

Ditto. I used Krylon textured paint on PVC hose. I've also used flat black as well.
