Painting a galvanized stock tank.

I have a 150 gallon galvanized stock tank. Have had it for 6 years. Have had fish die off at a rate of a couple a year. Did not realize about zinc toxicity. I used two part epoxy pond paint to coat the inside. Has anyone had luck with this?

I never thought of that as an option, I assume as long as it sticks that would work great!

I probably would have suggested laying a liner in there, but your idea seems so much better!

Seems like a solid plan to me. Does the top metal tray holding the plants need a coat as well?

I would have just put a liner in it. probably cost less, and will have no worries later. Getting paint to adhere to galvanized surfaces for any length of time is both expensive, and time consuming.

Not sure what tray you mean, but if the rain is able to hit the galvanizing and splash or spill into the pond, that probably wouldn't be good.
