I've set up my old 75gal. preform pond w/ pump only to try and get my hyacinth to regrow after being munched on by my goldfish. Do I need to add anything? I have phosphorus, nitrogen and potassium I can add.
The water hyacinth lives on the waste of the fish. Find a way to protect the roots and let them fertilize naturally. If you have a Home Depot, they have some nice plastic fencing material and PVC that will make a nice frame.
I just re-posted my water hyacinth, because it grows so fast, it has taken over my ponds. Even with 20 Koi, 8 are over 15'" the plants have taken over and now must be thinned out.
