Planning on ordering a Panama Pacific bare root and want to know if I can plant it in December. The pond is in an all- day sunny location

I would think in Az you could plant it at any time. Just hope your pond is nice and deep and you can provide some kind of shade in the hot part of Summer daytime or might it cook? Do you have fish in there to fertilize it or will you be throwing in some fertilizer? It will need some kind of food to survive and bloom.

I have grown Panama Pacific before and it thrived. Just wondering about starting it this time of the year.

Sinse panama never sees snow, i would not start it in the colder temps not even in arizona the last time i was there i was driving through the grand canyon with 4 inches of snow. it's too easy to make a bucket of water and a sponge filter and air for the winter

The temps in Phoenix this week are ranging from 76 to 80 highs to 50 to 54 at night. Never get snow in the lower valleys. :)

I think it will do just fine now but I've never grown it here or planted any lilies in our winters as we would be too cold. So just my opinion since you are so warm there and lilies love warmth and sunshine!

A guy I bought marginal plants from (near Red Rock) says that winter is the best time to plant marginals.

I had a pond in Arizona. Planted more stuff in the winter then the miserable heat of summer.
