Can someone tell me if adding new plants can carry parasites and if so is there anything I can do before adding them to pond. Sorry if this is in wrong threat.

I usually always rinse off new plants, main reason for me is that one of the first pond plants I bought at a garden center had a few leeches on them. Luckily I saw the leeches before I put it in my pond.

Yes, It is possible for plants to bring unwanted parasites with them.

I use a product by Jungle called Clear Water. The main ingredient is potassium permanganate. I use it to disinfect plants and fish nets.

I'm not sure the hydrogen peroxide will take care of snails that may be hitching a ride on any live plants.

Personally I like snails so that part doesn't matter so much to me. It's the other parasites and bacteria that I'm more concerned about.
