I wanted to know if there were any plants that i can edge around the perimeter of the pond but in the water. I want something that could possibly grow up the sides and onto the rocks. Trying to cover the liner.

The only problem is most plants will die back in the winter. Have you looked at rock on a roll?
It works great rockonaroll.com does a great job of covering liner.

ever green ground covers planted land, will grow and cover the liner slowly.

Hyssop works well for me.

Dr.Dave, can you post a pic of this plant cover? I'm not familiar with that plant at all and interested in finding something similar, I'm not a fan of junipers or evergreen plants around the pond, I am far better and choosing plants by what they look like than names, I guess the old age is kicking in....lol

Yes it is. If you look carefully, you can even see the small violet flowers that Hyssop gets. It does not do cold real well however. It should be fine for La. A frost here reduced mine and now it is going to take a few weeks of warm weather for it to recover.
Mine is all in the water and it grows out. I also have Wire Vine that grows in the ground and works its way into the water.
They make a great pair.

IAP Water Hyssop 'Smooth' - Bacopa monnieri
IAP009
An excellent plant for the edges of ponds, where there might be some unsightly concrete showing. Bright green leaves arranged along a creeping stem which will grow to several feet in length. Plant will form floating or prostrate colonies which will cover areas of open water or pond/stream embankments. Will tolerate traffic, frost, extreme heat, and can be used to stabilize wet hilsides. It produces small lavender blossoms all summer. It can be anchored with gravel or small stones in shallow water areas.(1-2" of water)

I was trying to cover the 6" of liner that shows since the edge is rounded rather than a 90 degree corner. I guess I can always remove the rocks and place a 2X4 to get a straight corner and get the rocks to overhang to hide the liner.
