Plants To Put In Bio-Filter, Other Than Water Lettuce & Water Hyacinth

For those of us who live where water lettuce & water hyacinth are more-or-less banned, what are some alternative plants to float in a SKIPPY?

pennywort, creeping primrose, mint , parrots feather, sensitive plant, frog bit

Salvinia is an interesting floater, but needs overwintering indoors.

Smaller forms of cyperus are well suited to filtration, tub cultivation.

Grows bare root in water well, easy to yank whole lot out when they need thinning, chop to divide when they mass out, doesn't drop lots of debris compared to hyacinth or lettuce, burns easy when dried out

Salvinia is another one can't have here

Watercress is what I use. $1.50 for a bunch in the produce department

I can't find watercress here anymore and I love it in my salads

We don't have that store here ,only krogers ,food lion ,piggly wiggly ,and walmart and walmart stopped selling it last year and I can't even find seeds here .
