Hi all,
So I decided to get rid of the weeds around my pond and plant natives. Turns out, a few centimetres down, I ran into sand, rocks, followed by a red sheet. This red sheet runs from the pond to the wooden wall and about a metre past the pond. Underneath is clay soil... I don't have enough depth to put my plants in and was wondering if it is ok to get rid of this? Is it important? So many people were telling me to get rid of it, but my dad thinks it is more than weed suppression and might be necessary to the pond. Any thoughts to its exact purpose?
