Well its time for us all to be looking at the start of the new season, the most important thing is to clean any leaves, sludge etc from the bottom of the pond.
Its also important for us to clean the filters I cannot bang hard enough about this it is really necessary for the continuing health of our koi it has to be done .
Dont do them all at once one every other week is enough we used Microbelift PL filterpad innoculent gel to kick start the filter again also changing all the airstones and in our case the zeolight.
The jap matting if you use it must be pressure washed to rid it of muck covering the the jap matting the zeolight and sponges with the Gel.
once covered its left open to the air for 30 minutes and then soaked for an hour prior to starting your filter off again.
Once this is done we are ready for the summer and the filters should be next cleaned prior to winter in late autumn repeating the process again
