Hi,
This is a concrete lined pond, I would like to use it as a sunken seated area.
Anyone have any suggestions on how I could drain this area on a permanent basis.

Thanks
Oscar

Personally, I think it’s too nice not to use as it was intended. That’s thousands of dollars of work.

Very nice pond, if it were mine it would be a pond.

The only other thing you could do is find the lowest spot, make it deeper, ie. chip out the concrete, put in a sump pump.

About the only way I can think would be pumping it out continuously or running pipe from the lowest spots out into a drain field. Too much work for me! I love the look of it as a pond but if you don't want it then it would make a nice gathering spot for family and friends to sit. If you have a hill on your property nearby the pond, lower than the pond you could run a pipe underground that comes out to the hill and then water comes out and runs down. It better not effect anyone else's property tho or they will complain big time.

You would need to put a drain in it and connect it to the storm sewer. Not easy and not cheap. A pump will work but I don't think it's practical.
