I've got several water hyacinth, water lettuce and some lilies in my pond. I have noticed that the water lettuce leaves are drying up and breaking apart as well as some of the lilie pads seem to be disintegrating. At first I thought it's from the water, but then I started to wonder if it's the koi fish eating them. Does anyone know if Koi eat the leaves of these plants? If so, does that mean they are hungry and I should feed them more?

They eat the roots which have to be there to feed the plants .Take them out and put them in a tub of miraclegrow until they get a good root system back .Nice pond by the way and welcome to the pond forum

Seems like having lilies and koi is a big difficult thing.

yep they damage them by rooting in the soil they are planted in .I don't have lilies in my pond for that reason .
