Hey Everyone,
I'm new to the whole garden pond scene, and I just have a few questions about pond plants.
I have a series of three ponds that flow into each other, the middle pond is the largest at about 5x3x2.5, and the smaller bottom pond is about 3x3x3, and I'm stumped for what plants to pick up. Ideally some that could cover the pipe in the pond, and some submerged/floating plants. And what substrate should I purchase for these ponds? finally, could fish survive in these ponds, and if so, what species?
Regards,
Josh.

Welcome @Jonk Fronk !

Where are you located? Preformed ponds are typically not very deep, but 2.5 feet might be enough. Although it does look like you might not be fully in the ground, so that could make a difference.

The sky is the limit when it comes to plants - do you have shelves in the pond? You could cover the pipe with something in a pot that would fall on either side. Get some plants for the exterior to help hide your edges. Add more rocks to the outside and you'll have a pretty pond!

I'm in whitchurch stouffville ontario, I'm not certain which zone I'm in but thats the general area. and yes the ponds do have shelves. I've already added a small amount of duckweed from another pond.

I have small tropical guppy pond that runs all year. I cover with plastic frame good and heat with two fish tank 200 and 300 watt heaters. Water stays warm enough for guppies and even swordtail fish in there. I pile snow around little guppy pond frame and it stays warmer like igloo.
