I work at a camp and we have two large ponds (1 and 1.5 million gallons). The 1 million gallon pond has a smaller pond (25,000 gallons) situated above it that overflows with rain run off at times. We're looking to put in a pump to create circulation pulling water from the larger, lower level pond up to the smaller higher elevated pond. What are your thoughts, concerns, suggestions. I'm open to hear what y'all have.

Welcome! This sounds like a job for a professional, but a bit more information might help. Do you have any photos you can share? What's the purpose of moving the water? How much water do you hope to move?

@patricklo and WOW, I have no clue on what to do for circulation w/a pond that big and would your county even allow you to do anything to it? Maybe call them and ask if it's ok and if they have any suggestions. I think you need help from some place like this: http://ecopondrescue.com/eco-pond-rescue-lipvacs-sj4864.php

Welcome to our group!

Get the biggest pump you can afford i.e. electric use and cost and just pump from the lower to the upper.
