Pond sock for Little Giant WGP 95 pump using 2 outlets

OK I and coming at this from another angle ( Please See "Need to fine tune waterfall, pump and filter system."
I use a Little Giant WGP 95 pump 4280 GPH. I use both outlets so it is very bulky at the bottom around the intake. Any suggestion to enclose the pump with a fine filter to prevent waste ( leaves, fish excrement etc) I have a pump sock but I am going to have to make cuts into it so that the hoses can be attached.

A crate around it would help if you added something in the crate like furnace filter material or lava rock ,but rock would make it heavy .Pump should never be right on the bottom
