Pond support

Any advice on what to use to support the sides above ground? Will be laying stones on the edge and vertically as well. Brick around the pond and fill with ? Sand concrete or rounded gravel?

Dirt, that’s how I’ve always done it

Dirt works it will settle, you might need to add more.
