Hi I recently bought a pump and filter . Kade and put it in my newly created pond ( small, with a waterfall) mid/late April, I added approx 6 marginal plants around the side and bought some hornwort too ( an oxygenator). I have no fish but there are some frogs, lots of insects. The pond is now completely covered in green slime and ( under the water rather than floating) the pump is also covered. I have been taking it out with a net but the whole pond liner is also covered, can you suggest what to do, should I empty the pond and start again?

The short carpet type that sticks to all your liner and other items is fine. It's the long stringy stuff that bugs people. Just get yourself a clean toilet brush and you can attach it to a long handle if needed to reach in and twirl it out. Don't use chemicals I.M.O as it can hurt more than help and the algae will just come back anyways. The more plants you have the less of that stuff you will have. Never, ever empty your pond as then you are starting over and critters will not be happy w/you. Don't ever scrub your liner, that short type carpet type is good for your pond.
