My pond was drained for some work in Apr 18 and refilled. Since then I have green plant matter which is gradually covering the floor of the pond, the way it is spreading it seems invasive
Is it desirable, if not how best to get rid of it?
Many thanks

Welcome!
That algae is feeding off some excess plant nutrients in the water.
You'll have to keep manually removing it until the nutrient level comes down.

Welcome @Jackstraw ! Yup - string algae. You essentially have a new pond, since you emptied and refilled it.

Tell us more about your pond - how big, how many gallons, how old, any fish. how many? And we love to see pictures!
