I'm in the process of digging my bog. The phone line [based on recent marking] runs directly underneath. It won't be a problem for digging -- the line is buried deep enough and the bog is going to be mostly above ground. But it occurred to me that if there was ever a problem with the phone line, and they had to dig it up.......

Has anyone had an issue like this, where you've had a utility line moved? Or will they even do that? And if so, was it a "big deal?"

I haven't called the phone company yet. Will do that next week. Just glad I actually thought of it!!!

phone line problems shouldnt be an issue...they usually dont dig up lines to repair them. they just run new lines. same with cable etc..
I did wonder about that....

ahhhhh yeh addy blame tractor .I called dig safe ,but if you hit the telephone or cable remember they may have to damage your lawn and if not they will put it overhead which can be ugly in some instances and sometimes may cost you . .My lines all run up the hill right next to each other inside heavy conduit .Cable line I made direct tv put it in conduit also .I just had to purchase the conduit and have it here when they came and since it was only 10 feet from the house it was easy to do .Got oversized pipe and i dug the trench myself as I wanted it place next to the fence away from my garden where i plant my potato's

I ran conduit under ground, opened the cable box, and put in a new cable to our house............fixed at the cost of a new cable from home depot. Easier than calling them to come and fix it. The electrical lines are under the driveway. We have no phone so that is not a concern, well water lines under the driveway.
