I hate to beat a dead horse, but I always say--pool equipment isn't for ponds and pond equipment isn't for pools.

Pool equipment works at high head/force, which is not how pond equipment needs to work.

i understand what you are saying and i will not be using this pump but i have seen it done and work very well. Their pond was crystal clear and had great flow from the falls, but i believe it would cost more money than i wanna spare to run this pump.

you could hook it up as a second pump for your falls or other feature . to use when youve got company over or occasions where you would like an enhanced look to the pond. maybe another spillway or two more. if you do this dont run it thru your filter just right to your falls...we all would enjoy a little Niagra Falls occasionally
