Possible solution to tax hike

I might be able to donate 4 acres of my land to my rescue and get a better rate but it won't go into 100% this year but will save me a little now and a lot next year.
Also thank you very much to all those who replied to the original post. Me and the turtles appreciate your kindness and concern for the rescue and its well being :)

We have our land zoned as "agricultural" and that keeps our taxes low.
I make sure every year that we meet the requirements for that.
Is that an option for you, Marshall?

I don't know about that option but I will look into that to see if it is cheaper.
