I'll do screenshots to explain;
1. click the landscape icon, left of smilie.
2. window appears where you drag your pic(s) into

3. my pic then uploads and appears. In the thumb below, I see 'insert'; click and you get the option to put in a thumbnail or the full pic. I choose full pic...

4. click 'post reply'.

I want to ask some questions but I know you like photos. However I can't figure out how to post.
Thanks!
I have been working on my pond for some time now getting it to a decent state, however I forgot to put in an overflow. Is my only recourse now a trench with a PVC pipe?
Another issue is power. I have been using an extension cord but know I should get an outlet. Is an electrician my only choice here? I am 84 and have been doing all the work myself so far.
The pond is brackish as I have been wading around in there. It is small, about 8 by 8.

Yes an electrician should be used as water and electricity just don't mix and i do hope your extension cord is plugged into a gfci, I T would really be a shame at 84 you had an incident with the electric and water at this stage

you can just let it flow over the edges. Do you routinely get torrential rains? You can just lower one edge where you want the water to overflow, if you have an appropriate area to flow into.

If you're unfamiliar with electricity and diy setups, then yes, get a professional for your own safety.

Looking at your setup and your green water, you would benefit greatly from considering a bog filter setup. Search on the forums for 'bog' and read up.

Little need to be nervous Ground fault circuit interupters GFCI , have been around since the late 70's. They have had very fews issues but they are mechanical and they can go bad. But with the hundreds of thousands of pools ponds and water features out there . The insident ration is infentesimal .
