im about to start planning a pond soon and iwant it about 5 foot deep, 15 feet lond and 5 feet wide. As it is my first time and my mum does not want me to dig the whole garden up, she wants me to use a preformed base. but i have searched and searched but i can not find any the size i want it......

I then seached on forums to see if anybody else has this problem but everyone uses liners.

Just wondering if anybody knew a place where i could find a preformed pond that size preferably rectangular.

Please dont try to convince me to use liner as my family will not have it. plus when i get older and move out i can take a preformed pond with me.

Hope somebody can help. Many thanks

Well I looked all over for you and alot of places I went to said you don't find them over 100 gallons but Also you can use cement but it's a little harder to work with then a (liner)

 thanks for looking for me. really want this pond, i have kept all sorts of fish and just thought it would be nice to have the addition of freshwaters. i did think it would be hard but luckely i have a road near me that is well known for its large quantity of fish stores so i will probably go down there next week and try to get a better idea there.

Ok sorry I didn't come up with anything but as soon as you get your pond together you will realize they are a great asset to have

if you buy a flexible liner you can build the pond to your exact specs...and if room is an issue you can go part underground and part above. this way you can have a larger water volume and keep its footprint down....retainer wall block and cap stone works fantastic and looks beautiful....once your fish start eating out your hands and mom hears the soothing sound of a waterfall...she will love it!!

The only thing I can think of that would have those dimensions is an above ground pool.

They aren't pretty, though.

I don't think you're going to find anything designed for a pond with those dimensions- shipping costs would be huge and the demand would be so small that I just don't see anyone manufacturing anything like that. Or if they did, it would be a custom job and the cost would be astronomical.

I'd show your mom some pictures of above ground pools and say that's going to be the best option unless she lets you dig.

Nice thing about a hole is it's easy to fill back in or make bigger later if you go with a liner pond... they're actually more forgiving.

There are no "pond preformed" liners that big, because they would expenise to make a mold that large, and the cost of trasporting something like that would be insane, thats why for a pond that big you will need to use a liner. If you want raised pond you can still make it with a liner, not 5 feet but you can do 3 feet tall, i have made mine that way.

Actually tanks of that size do exist - I bumped into them in a search - but they cost thousands of dollars to buy and more thousands to ship. Quite frankly, a pond of that size isn't something for a beginner who probably has a limited budget to work with. I suggest you look into stock tanks. Like what you see here: stock tanks You can get them at farm supply stores and some hardware stores. You can have quite a few fish in a 300 gallon tank, can take it with you when you move, and be ready to build that big pond when you have a place of your own.

check craigs list, I bought a 1000 gallon stock tank for $100 not as big as you would like to have, but it would do as a your first pong.

I can go a few feet down and 2 feet up, so i can get 4-5 feet depth to the pond, but you really think there is no preformed ponds that are around 3 meters lond and 1 meter wide? it really doesnt sound that big to me

the best thing to do is search the net. It most likely will be very expensive, if you can find one.
