I have been growing lotus in my pond ( zone 7 ) for 5 years and have had very good success with them. I have 5 different colors and all have really bloomed well. However this year I have had problems with few blooms , one no blooms and some with petals falling off before fully blooming. All have lots of healthy looking leaves and fertilizer is the same as always. Has any one ever have this problem ?

When were they divided last? Possibly root bound.
They are all in floating pots in my koi pond . In early spring when they start sprouting I divide all of them which are pot bound by then and replant a new tuber in each pot using kitty litter. Usually have lots of tubers left over. I usually get 4-8 blooms on each plant per year but this year maybe 2-3 and one none. Just seems odd.
