Several instances where goldfish get puffed up in the belly. Some die and others seem to get well. Any thoughts on what's causing this?

Hello and welcome!

I’m sorry, but this is a very vague question and there is no way anyone can tell you what’s going on just from what you have said here.

The first things that pop into my head are 1) an egg-carrying / egg bound female, 2) dropsy, or 3) a tumor.

Maybe you could give us some solid information about your pond. The more information we have, the better we will be able to give you sound advice.
  • How big is the pond?
  • how long has it been up and running?
  • how many fish (goldfish only?) do you have and how big are they?
  • have there been any recent changes in the pond, such as adding new fish?
  • do you test your water?
  • what kind of filtration do you have?
Oh, I see where you joined back in 2014, but haven’t made any posts.

Turtle Mommy - Pond is 15 X 40 feet. Up and running since '09. Approx 200 Goldfish. Largest are probably 10 to 12 inches long. No recent changes. Ph is 7.0 I think. Two 1200 GPH pumps that operate 24/7. Will appreciate your feedback. Thanks.
