Pump for small pond?

Hello - we have a small wildlife pond (no frogs or newts yet) after two seasons. We installed a small Oase Filtral pump which has just died. Does anyone have any recommendations for the most suitable type of pump for a small pond. We get a lot of algae (as I suppose most folk do). We have a healthy population of waterboatman, pond skaters, some snails etc.

Thank you

No pump suggestions for the UK - just wanted to say welcome!

My strategy is always to search for "best pumps for ...." whatever my need is (pond, fountain, etc) and then start reading consumer reviews. There's a ton of products to choose from.

I will say that having a pump fail after just two seasons would seem awfully fast - was this a new pump? Did you check the warranty?

@Maureen@stokecanonclocks.
I use Laguna or Pondmaster pumps. Laguna uses less electricity I find.
