something must have happened during the night to my surprise the water wasn't flowing down the waterfall but the pump was shaking.

so i took it out of the pond, took the pump apart and noticed there were anacharis and water hyacinth roots jamming it. so i took that apart put it back in and turned it on... nothing. so i took the pump apart again and removed the filter extension.. it works. put it back on, nothing... so i took the filter off and duct taped every single joint, attached it to the pump and again nothing. not sure what's going on. in theory as long as the tubing is not clogged up and there's no block it should work but im stumped.

it's a small tetra 550gph pump with a pondmaster filter (not sure on the size)

see if it can actually move water, hooked to another pipe. that would tell you where the problem is, anyway. DrCase is probably right.
