I am about 90% finished with resurrecting our neglected pond and waterfall outback with the house we just bought.Got the pond emptied and cleaned out changed all the filters and got pumps going.

Come to find out, my waterfall basin, an Aquascape Biofalls Large, is leaking near the lip and back into the rocks. I’ve tried the dealing with silicone and tightened the screws so I’m perplexed where it’s coming out.

What is your opinion with me just dropping a large pvc pond liner in the Biofalls and cutting / sealing the two inlet holes and then let the PVC draped over the spillway a few inches. I can dress it up with rocks, but is there some other way to ensure the water reaches the waterfall without it leaking?

You may need a thin pvc liner to do that because epdm is not flexiable enough for that .I would turn everything off let the bio falls filled with water and check the level of the water as it drops .If it does not drop then the waterfall may be just leaking .Those aquascape bio falls are pretty sturdy and I think have lifetime warranty .Can you post a pic of it

You mean the lip where it attaches to the liner? It's coming out there somehow? If so, you could remove the screws, pull the liner away and reseal it with a liberal amount of silicone. Of if the is a very slow leak you could let it be and view it as watering the garden.

It could be leaking where the liner attaches to the waterfall - as @EricV suggested, it would be easy to take the screws out, reseal with silicone and screw that face plate back on. Lining it would significantly reduce the interior size.
