Have an active bog filter but still needed a mechanical filter. Made one for about $20 utilizing my small 1200 gph winter pump.

Cheeze ball container and 3 different floor buffer waxer pads and some left over gravel from bog ain't pretty but works until i can make a better looking one.

edit: was in the pond relocating plants hence the liner not as covered as i can. waiting on the water to settle before i put back in/on and remake fish caves.

In some circles that can almost be considered art, Like Andy Warhol's photos of Campbell soup cans.

Very clever! I love innovative, out of the box thinking!

Please don't take this next part as a criticism, but I am a big believer that a pond perimeter needs to be stable enough to walk all around without a rock moving or shifting underfoot. Your rocks are going to constantly slide down your liner the way they are stacked around the edge. I think you said you were revamping your wife's grandpa's pond, correct? Do you have plans to re-do the edge treatment?

If I'm overstepping just tell me to back off - I'm pretty thick-skinned!
