Does anyone know which rocks are not good to have in a pond based on their geological makeup? I am thinking specifically of some shale type rock I found and used in my waterfall?

If your shale is like our shale, I tested it and it dissolved when left in water.

It is a soft rock, gets mushy then poof gone. Can you break it easy? or scratch it easy? we can with ours.
